Hiring a full-time foreign domestic helper in Malaysia usually goes through a private employment agency. The agency recruits candidates abroad, arranges work permits and medical screening, and places the helper with your household. Agencies that place helpers need a licence from Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Semenanjung Malaysia (JTKSM), so ask for the licence number before paying anything and check it with the department.
