Privacy policy (United States)

This policy explains how NearbyWise ("we") handles personal information on NearbyWise in the United States, including the rights you may have under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

What we collect

• Reading the site. You don't need an account to read NearbyWise, and we don't run advertising or analytics trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run the site and protect it from abuse. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to profile you.
• Cookies. Two small cookies: one remembers the country you chose, and one remembers that you have seen our cookie notice. See the cookie policy.
• When you contact us. If you email us (for example with a correction), we use your name, email address and message to reply and to act on your request, and keep them only as long as needed for that.

Business information

We publish information about businesses, not private individuals: details each business makes public on its own website and on its public Google listing, such as its name, address, phone number, prices and services. A business can ask us to correct or remove its listing at any time (see corrections).

We don't sell or share personal information

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use service providers to host the site and store our data, and they process it only on our instructions.

Your rights

Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, and to ask us to correct or delete it. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, email us; we will verify it and respond within 45 days.

Children

NearbyWise is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
